The questions people actually ask.
Why is the build a one-off fee and the hosting monthly?
Because that is what actually happens. Building the site is a project with an end. Hosting, backups, monitoring and patching are ongoing, so they are charged ongoing. We would rather show you both numbers than bury one inside the other.
What happens if I want to leave?
After the first twelve months, give us a month’s notice and we hand over the repository, a database export and your DNS. No exit fee, no holding your domain hostage. It is your site.
Is the monthly plan compulsory?
For the first year, yes — it is how we keep the build price where it is. After that you can take the code and host it elsewhere. Most people stay because it is genuinely cheaper than doing it themselves.
What counts as a page?
A page with its own URL and its own content. Variations generated from a template — every blog post, every case study — do not count. On Publish you can add unlimited entries to your content templates.
Do you do design, or do I need a designer?
We design it. If you already have brand guidelines we work to them. If you have a designer you would rather use, we will build to their files at no extra cost.
What if my site is bigger than 15 pages?
Then it is a Platform project, or a Publish build with extra pages at £150 each. Send us the URL and we will tell you which is cheaper for you — including when that is the smaller option.
Are there any other costs?
Your domain name, which you keep in your own name and pay for directly — usually £10 to £15 a year. Beyond that, only things you ask for outside the plan. No licences, no per-seat fees, no surprise renewals.
How long does it take?
Rebuild is typically three to four weeks from sign-off. Publish is five to seven. Platform depends entirely on scope, which is what the discovery is for.
