About
We fix websites that already exist.
Not a design studio that also does development. Not an agency with a WordPress theme and a list of plugins. We rebuild legacy sites and applications in real code, and then we run them.
The name
Fettle is an old British word for putting something back into good working order. In fine fettle. Fettling an engine.
It is the right word for the job. Almost every business we talk to does not need a new website — they need the one they have got to stop letting them down. The content is fine. The rankings took years. What is underneath it is the problem.
So: re-fettle. Put it back in order.
What we believe
A website is not a product you buy once
It is a thing that has to keep running. Most of what goes wrong happens in year two, which is why hosting and care are in the price rather than sold to you later.
Publish your prices
Hiding them behind “contact us” is a way of finding out how much you can afford before quoting. We would rather put numbers on a page and let you decide.
You should own what you paid for
The repository is yours. If you leave, you take it. A client who stays because leaving is painful is not a client, they are a hostage.
Say no to the wrong project
If a rebuild will not pay for itself, the audit says so. Talking someone out of spending money is cheaper than a project neither side wanted.
What we build with
Astro, which turns hand-written components into plain static HTML. Almost no JavaScript reaches the browser, because almost none is needed to show you a page about a plumbing business.
Where a site needs to do more — forms with logic, payments, accounts, a real database — we write that too. It is the same tools, just more of them, and it is priced as a Platform project because it genuinely is more work.
Everything runs on our own UK infrastructure. Not a reseller account with somebody else’s logo taken off it.

Send us the address. We will come back with your real speed scores, what it is built on, and what we would do about it. No charge, no pitch deck.
